Product Status Definitions

In the Management Center, you can see the status of your product. It appears just under the product title in a drop-down menu, like the one below:

Here's what each status means:

Active

Active products have been approved and published onto Viator, Tripadvisor, and our partner network. If your product status is Active but travelers cannot book it, check that your product has future available dates in the Schedules and prices section and review your product connection if your product is connected to a reservation system.

If you no longer want to offer your product on Viator, Tripadvisor, and our partner network, change your product status to Inactive.

If you deactivate a product with future bookings, we recommend letting your customers know and confirming that their booking is going ahead. If you’re unable to operate the tour, you can cancel the booking and refund your customers through the Management center.

Inactive

Travelers are unable to book inactive products. Both you and Viator can mark products as Inactive. You can view the drop-down menu to see when and why this happened. You may also mark products as Inactive if you no longer want to offer them on Viator, Tripadvisor, and our partner network.

You are often able to change your product status to Active on your own, if you would like it to be available again. In some cases, you may need to contact us to determine whether a product can be marked as Active again.

Suspended

Suspended products have been removed from our platform and are not bookable. To maintain a positive experience for travelers, we have a product suspension program that removes products that have high cancellation rates. Read more about this policy

Pending

Products with a Pending status are in the process of being published. Usually products become Active 10 minutes after they’ve been published. If you notice your product has been in this status for longer, please contact us.

In Review

A Viator team member reviews new products before they are published to ensure that products meet our guidelines and are set up for success with travelers. An In Review status means that the product has been submitted for review, but has not been published. Find out more about the review process

Rejected

Rejected products have been reviewed by the Viator team and were not published. After you submit your new products for review, Viator will reject products that do not clearly meet our product guidelines. You will be notified via email with more information if your product is rejected.

Terminated

Terminated products have been removed from Viator, Tripadvisor, and our partner network, and are no longer bookable for travelers. Typically, products in this status have been found to violate our product guidelines

Please note that it is not possible to delete a product listed under the Products page in the Management Center.
